Two are better than one in a marriage - Marriage as God Intended

Two are always better than one in a marriage if the couple are intentional about their marital relationship and making the most of it.

Marriage was designed by God to be a progressive and unifying union between husbands and wives. It was a system established by the Creator whose purpose was aimed at providing leverage for a better and more fulfilling life altogether for couples. In essence, God introduced marriage to the first man, Adam, invariably mankind, to bring out the best in him (them)—Gen. 2:18. Betterment, enhancement, and support form the primary template of God for marriage, and every well-meaning couple must keep this in mind.

The idea of marriage gives a couple the platform to maximise their lives through a unique collaboration that marriage brings. That’s why two are said to be better than one. When the Bible says Eccl. 4:9-12—That two are better than one. Let me tell you what it means so that you can become more serious and intentional about making your marriage work in spite of some spontaneous difficulties.

It means two are stronger than one. So they have more strength to accomplish more even in less time with less energy. Also, because they are stronger, they can accomplish things and pursue their lofty dreams that would have been very difficult or almost impossible for one person to undertake. Two are emotionally stable than one because this minimises resentment, unnecessary anger, and extramarital affairs. Two are wiser than one, and that will enable them to make less ineffective decisions. It also increases their understanding in many areas of their family life and marriage.

Additionally, two are warmer than one. Two are bolder than one. Two are more blessed than one. Two are greater than one. Two will do more exploits than one. Two are better thinkers than one. Two can enjoy love and romance better than one. Two are more satisfied than one. Two are more protected than one. Two shine brighter than one.

So, if you are single and in a courtship that is not improving you in a number of ways, that is a red. Watch it! The joy and beauty of marriage are in the leverage it provides for a couple to reach your full potential in life and fulfil their purpose in a grand style. The most rewarding and beautiful marital relationships are those of couples who, through determination and patience, stay married against all odds. Of course, apart from violence and serial infidelity.

If this togetherness does not lead to a better experience as a couple, there is a serious problem on your hands. In fact, it can lead to stress, anxiety, and a sense of crisis in marriage and life at large.
