Things that men do which greatly annoy their wives

Does this title startle you? It may, or it may not. But believe you me, I have seen, heard, and counseled a few ladies whose husbands heat up their blood through unsavory, absurd, and wicked behaviors. This should not be heard of in a union like marriage. As a matter of fact, even I, as a marriage counselor, get so infuriated in some instances over the cases brought to me. However, I think wives tend to infuriate their husbands more than husbands do to their wives, based on observations and research. This will be my focus in another write-up in order to help both husbands and wives guard against these irate attitudes in marriage.

Now let’s look at some of these behaviours:

1. Neglecting all domestic duties towards a wife who has no house help, while expecting her to be there for you all the time, especially when you want to satisfy your sexual urges, is unreasonable.

2. Diverting your resources (especially finances and time) to another lady outside the home (with her knowledge) while she and the children starve at home and can hardly see you when they need you.

3. A woman’s blood can reach 100°C if she suffers and perseveres with a man during trying times, only for him to abandon her when the sun begins to shine for him. Some men have met sudden death due to this.

4. Putting your extended family members and their demands before hers and your own family interests will always make a wife’s head spin 360°. Besides, dishonoring her before them is unacceptable.

5. Not being a man who has strong convictions and a sound decision-making pattern, but rather depending on parents, friends, and colleagues to help you arrive at family-oriented decisions almost all the time.

6. Subjecting her to domestic violence and emotional torture every time for the slightest offense or provocation, especially when you do it in front of the children and neighbors.

7. A wife’s blood boils when she confirms that, despite her own faithfulness, her husband sleeps around with females in the neighborhood and probably her house helps or female relatives.

8. When, as a man, you are busy taking care of yourself physically and materially, while she and the children are just wretched, smelling, and unappealing in their looks.

9. Perhaps every woman will curse a man who does not care about how to be the breadwinner of the home, but still waits on his wife’s income to even get some drinks and sponsor a girlfriend he spends time with.

10. When her man scarcely communicates with her in the house year in and year out and does not care to inquire about her personal welfare in terms of work, career, business, physical, and spiritual well-being.

11. When a man shows utmost disrespect and disgust towards his wife’s relations, particularly his parents-in-law, without any regard for his wife’s feelings or distressing position.

12. When she knows that you have willed your wealth and properties to your relatives or a concubine’s son(s) on the grounds that she only has female children, it is actually absurd anyway.

13. Embarking on major financial projects, capital investments, or sponsorships of extended family members without the knowledge and consent of your wife.
