In Prov. 7:22 & 23
“Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as a fool to the correction of the stocks, TILL AN ARROW STRUCK HIS LIVER. As a bird hastens to the snare, HE DID NOT KNOW IT WOULD COST HIS LIFE.
As I read this scripture during my study recently, it quickly dawned on me (with terror) that many spouses, especially women, might have entered early widowhood because of their husbands’ unconfessed (secret) sexual sin. Unfortunately, many have already been caught in this evil web to the point of no return; yet many can still be salvaged from these terminal diseases and untimely deaths if they just do the right thing. Apart from the wrong diet, bad habits like drinking alcohol, smoking, etc., and general mismanagement of the body system, one other thing that results in terminal diseases and untimely death is indulging in the sin of sexual immorality and covering it up.
Incidentally, most married men (believers and unbelievers) have strayed into this path and ended up receiving the devil’s penalty for these sinful pleasures. This is definitely why the Bible says we should flee from the sin of sexual immorality. The penalty is the highest any man can pay for his misdeeds on earth. It is a penalty so stiff and severe that it presents its victims with both the first and second deaths. The first is an untimely death often associated with the failure of the kidneys, liver, and other vital organs in the body, and the second is a death in hellfire for those victims of the seductress who did not repent before death.
Let me drive my point home. When a married man sleeps with a seductress or a woman who is not his spouse, it could lead to fatal consequences, as seen in the scripture above and the one below.
Proverbs 5:3-5
“For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey,
And her mouth is smoother than oil;“But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.”“Her feet go down to DEATH,
Her steps lay hold of hell.”
Because of the blood and soul ties that exist during sex, men who indulge in extramarital affairs have a high propensity to die young and prematurely because of the venom of a seductress. It only takes God’s mercy, a strong praying wife, and wise counsel to save such a man from the perils of adultery.

So, my advice to men who have fallen victim to an immoral woman is that they should be courageous and penitent enough to reveal their secret sins to their wives and the spiritual authorities over them. From the point of empathy, I am fully aware that this confession could be very humbling, disgraceful, and breaking for any man to make. However, it is better to be humbled in a dire situation like this than to perish in pride. Following this, they should ask for their wives’ heartfelt forgiveness and, more importantly, prayers from them too. This approach can salvage trapped men from untimely or sudden deaths resulting from the piercing of an immoral woman’s sword.
Lastly, women should create an atmosphere of peace and trust for their erring, adulterous husbands to open up to them, no matter how hurtful it may be to come to the knowledge of the adulterous act. This can bring the much-needed deliverance to the man and healing to their marriage and home altogether.
