Navigating sexuality as a Christian, whether as a youth or an adult, relies on three essential principles: Choice, Determination, and the Grace of God. To effectively combat sexual perversion in contemporary society, it is crucial to adopt these principles. Experiencing sexual feelings, thoughts, attractions, or behaviours towards others does not inherently indicate a sinful nature, provided that these experiences remain within the boundaries of marriage and adhere to God’s established guidelines for this sacred institution.

It is important that I state here that, however strong the urge to express your sexuality or sexual feelings may be, satisfying it must NOT be at the expense of your commitment to seeking God’s pleasure and the desire for an enviable marital destiny. What am I saying? That satisfying your sexual desires is ONLY permissible within the context of marriage. Strangely, quite a number of Christians, especially the unmarried, engage in unsavory behaviours just in the bid to satisfy their sexual urges before they get married. Sadly, this has resulted in negative psychological and spiritual effects on the victims of such acts, which eventually cause many of them to veer off the path of their destiny. Such actions have wrecked the plan of God in many lives.

Among sexual perversions, masturbation is included. Normally, it involves the use of one’s hand, sex toys, or dildos on one’s genitals with the aim of arousing sexual pleasure and ‘fulfillment’ in oneself. Watching pornography (and other related materials) to induce sexual pleasure in oneself without a marital partner is also associated with it. People masturbate to achieve orgasm (the highest point of sexual pleasure). Of course, this is considered morally wrong, and it can be spiritually and psychologically disconcerting. Activities of this kind usually initiate many of their ignorant and sometimes ‘sincere’ victims into a realm controlled by sexually immoral demons.

The scriptures condemn this heinous practice outrightly and states clearly that masturbation is abominable in God’s sight. You may read the following bible passages to enrich your understanding Rom.1:24-29 (NKJV).
Col. 3:5. 1 Corinth 7:1-4. (The Message Bible). I quoted some of them in my earlier post on the same subject.

The Destructive Consequences:

1. Engaging in these kinds of pleasure is what causes lack of visible progress (stagnation) in the lives of its victims.

It could be spiritual, marital, financial, or professional stagnation as the case may be. This is easy for this demon to execute because like every other negative effect it has spiritual controlling power over the life of its victims; since life is in the blood and sexual acts are blood-related.

2. It encourages victims to readily engage in romantic encounters within their dreams, having been married off in the spiritual realm by immoral and corrupt spirits.

This type of spiritual and demonic intercourse frequently occurs with unusual spiritual entities. As a result, the victim’s marital prospects, family life, and overall success face significant malevolent risks, which may also expose them to demonic influences. This situation can lead to persistent marital delays and various forms of setbacks for many affected individuals.

3. Masturbation can create instability in marital relationships, resulting in broken homes and ultimately leading to unsuccessful marriages..

One of the effects is that it combines with feelings of annoyance, leading to recurring resentment between partners. Consequently, their ability to connect at home becomes strained. This situation is marked by frequent conflicts, and they often struggle to maintain a satisfying sexual intimacy.

4. It inspires flirtatious tendencies in both single and married people.

That is why people who masturbate can hardly maintain a decent relationship life as singles while married ones battle with extramarital issues over a long period of a lifetime. Masturbation is a sign of a weak and vulnerable spirit. Those who masturbate have a high tendency to flirt and indulge in related immoral practices.

5. Depression is a confirmed negative effect of masturbation.

I have witnessed this in my counselling sessions. My interactions with victims have consistently established it as one of the strong disturbing effects of this rakish act. It instills guilt and anxiety in its victims. Depression destabilizes the mind and weakens one’s soul, so it renders its victims ineffective in terms of living a purposeful life and maintaining wholesome health.

It robs them of a sound mind and a good sense of judgment in many situations.

6. This immoral demon also clothes victims of masturbation and other related sexually immoral acts with ‘the spirit of rejection’ which makes one become a source of discomfort to one’s partner and others.

Hence this results in constant difficulty in relating with others.
In marriage, some victims suffer rejection while others show rejection towards their partner because of their indulgence in this sexually immoral act.

7. It is a major cause of strong and incessant marital conflict in the homes of those who entered the marriage covenant in an immoral way, especially among those who masturbate.

Because the spirit still needs the attention of a victim who took the courage to get married, it does not allow couples to dwell in peace. It fuels constant quarrels that may affect the frequency of copulation between the couple. Following this, a victim resorts to masturbation (self-serving gratification).

8. It subjects its victims to a guilty conscience.

Everyone, believers and unbelievers, who masturbate has a guilt bell that rings in their conscience each time this debased act is carried out. These always have it at the back of their mind that what they are doing is a shortcut and an escape route, away from the real thing that is obtainable only in marriage by divine ordination. Masturbation is just an evil persuasion to get sexual pleasure (in an immoral and shameful way) outside the boundary God has set for it to be done which is a proper marriage covenant relationship.
