One of the greatest personal breakthroughs in the life of any individual or couple is self-awareness. It is applicable to every aspect of life, including marriage. Couples who have passed the test of self-awareness are usually non-competitive with their partners. They scarcely have loneliness syndromes, and they often have the capacity and mental health to give their best to a marital relationship or wherever they find themselves, and to bring out the very best in their partners.
Among other things, self-awareness helps you easily discern your opportunities and capitalize on your comparative advantages. It also helps you choose your behaviors, attitudes, and friends. Not everyone who wants to be your friend should be your friend.
It takes self-awareness to understand this.

Self-awareness does not make you hate or bemoan your current situation; rather, it empowers you to embrace your enviable future and brighter tomorrow. Self-awareness is a very powerful subconscious tool; it helps you see the positive sides of every negative situation. So when the Bible says, ‘All things work together for good,’ it corresponds to self-awareness.
That is why Paul said that statement is applicable to those who have understood their purpose in Christ, which is the same thing as self-awareness.
No one in tbis life is truly capable of helping you come to the realization that there is more to you than you yourself. It’s your personal homework; you’ve got to face it. It is called self-awareness. For instance, blind Bartemeus and the woman with the issue of blood both knew there was more to their existence beyond their sicknesses, so they emerged out of their deplorable, hopeless situation. Mark 10:47, 5:25-28.
