“Whom You Marry Often Than Not Determines Where You Will Spend Eternity”.- Evang. Gloria Bamiloye.

This statement is credited to Evangelist Gloria Bamiloye, the wife of the ace Drama Evangelist, Rev. Mike Abayomi Bamiloye.

She made this statement of fact about the relationship between marriage and eternity in one of their best selling titles: The Story of My Life. The film is such an epic movie that everyone should watch.

Mummy Bamiloye saying: “whom you marry often than not determines where you will spend eternity”, it’s a submission that any serious minded believer (and a single) should not take with a pinch of salt. Most especially, singles who are still planning to start the marriage journey.

What she meant was that- one’s choice of partner may be one’s ticket to either hell or heaven. So watch and pray before making your choice. That is why the scriptures discourages us from settling down with unbelievers and uncommitted Christians. When it’s time to make a choice of a life partner, be conscious of your decision and take it serious. Because that may just be the beginning of a journey to hell on earth (marital experience) and eventual hell-fire (eternal damnation, following the many unfaithful and wicked occurrences that characterize a bad marriage).

Without any doubt, quite a number of married men and women have used their marital and extra-marital affairs as a visa to hell-fire. For instance, I know of cases of married people who died while having sex with their girl friend or boy friend. What a way to exit life and land in hell-fire, a place of eternal torment.

So my dear singles, take your time to make a heaven-ward choice. Heaven is real and hell-fire is too real to be ignored. Somebody may say: I should take my time, at 36 or 40years? Pastor Bimbo will usually say: “it is better to marry an angel at 40 than to marry a devil at 20.

The next worst thing after hell fire is a bad marriage.

As a matter of fact, for most, if not all couples, marriage is either a rehearsal for how heaven will look or how hell will be. Hence, we saw the scriptures compare the relationship of Christ with the church with that of what goes on between a man and his wife. Also, I believe that is why fulfilling and progressive marriages are usually described as ‘Heaven on earth’ marriage. And this is indeed true from experience.

Dr Olukoya of MFM preached sometime ago a message titled: Inside the Marriage Zoo. Somebody forwarded the message to my wife and he (Dr Olukoya) confirmed a lot of my thoughts about marriage. Among other things, he said the next worst thing after hell fire is a bad marriage. If you are unmarried, this is so TRUE.

So let God lead you if you don’t want to have a bad and tormenting (hellish) marriage. A bad marriage will hardly encourage any Heaven conscious child of God to focus on living for God and gaining eternal life. So endeavor to make a choice of partner with heaven in view. The Lord of life will guide you.

Thank you.
