It is mentally disturbing to me that some married folks show jealousy over their partners even though they don’t treat them right.
How can an individual be that mean and unrealistic? It is evident to all and sundry that such persons are unkind and unfriendly to their spouses; yet, they try to cut them off from their colleagues, family members, and well-meaning friends out of a jealous spirit. This condition could be quite torturing for partners who find themselves in these shoes.

I think the problem with these predatory spouses is akin to that of ‘a dog in a manger.’ These are individuals who will not appreciate, accept, or respect their spouses, yet they become very uncomfortable with those who try to give their partners a bit of what they starve them of.
Any individual who shows this disposition towards their partner is an unkind and irrational person. It is not right to treat your partner like trash in your marriage and still prevent them from finding joy in being with others who tend to value them. No one who has such a spouse must succumb to this pressure from their uncaring but jealous partner.

As a matter of fact, this can be likened to what could be termed domestic witchcraft, and it must be resisted and nipped in the bud of that marriage before things go awry.
I counsel that they go ahead to find solace and fulfilling moments in the circle of those who value them, irrespective of the jealous disposition of their partner. Otherwise, they may begin to battle with loneliness and depression syndromes. No individual has the power to lock down your life not even your life partner. The covenant of life is stronger than the marriage covenant.
